Running on Empty

One of the things that gives Philly a bad rap is the eyesore and the sewage-refinery olfactory roundhouse that’s delivered when you cross the Platt Bridge from the airport or other points South.

But one of the advantages of having a refinery next to a large metropolis is that we don’t, you know, run out of gas like those picturesque but gas-thirsty cities down South.
